Crystal Morning

The center stone, an Ocean Jasper, has minute sparkling crystals.

I wove this piece every morning while sitting on a balcony overlooking charming Depot Bay in Oregon. Hence, the title.

 
   

Twisted

Twisted was a deliberate deviation from my usual style of work which tends to be rather serious.

With this piece I wanted to explore shapes with a more playful approach.

The center stone is Septarian from Utah. Septarian has such unusual qualities.....yellow crystalline areas, amber highlights and sections of marblelike stone.  The beads within the coils are Amber.

Odyssey
11" x 10" x 4"
The center stone is a Picasso Marble. The image, to me, appears to be a horse standing near the woods with sunlight filtering through the trees. The pine needles are dyed and the coiling is done with wool yarns and waxed linen.
